ICF Canoe Sprint Masters Championships

The ICF Masters Championships will take place within the dates which are directly related to the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships Poznań 2010 /ICF WCH/, therefore the programme of the ICF Masters Championships has to be adjusted to the organizational needs of the ICF WCH
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Venue of the competition
Poznan, Poland, Competition Course at the Malta Lake.
2. Organizer
The organizer of the competition is the Polish Canoe Federation, in cooperation with the Polish Canoe Foundation.
3. Participants
All the competitors who reach 35 years old in 2010 and who did not participate in the previous year (that is 2009) in any Senior competitions, e.g. World Cup, European Championships, World Championships.
Every Masters competitor must be in a position to prove his age by presentation of an official document (passport or identity card) within accreditation.
Every Masters competitor shall be responsible for his / her own health and fitness.
Every Masters competitor has to sign the statement within accreditation that he/she is fully responsible for his/her health state and fitness and that the organizer does not bear any responsibility for any accident caused by the competitor‘s state of health during competition.
4. Female and Male age categories:
35 - 44, 45 - 54, 55 - 64, 65 - open
Combination of events
If there are not enough teams or individuals for viable competition in an event or age group, categories may be combined. The awarding of medals will not be affected.
That is, teams and individuals will still be awarded medals in the event or age group they originally entered.
5. Categories:
Women; K-1 K, K-2 K, K-4 K
Men; K-1 M, K-2 M, K-4 M
C-1 M, C-2 M, C-4 M
6. Distances:
500m, 2000m
Course
The 500 m will be held on the course with 9 lanes of 9 meters. Starts are equipped with the automatic start system. There is an electric time keeping system with photo finish camera and video recording.
The 2000m will be held by circle. Start and finish will be carried at the finish tower. Regarding the number of entries and the course situation the event could be divided.

09.00-10.45 – K-1, C-1 500m finals
11.15-12.30 – K-2, C-2 500m finals
15.00-18.00 – 2000m finals
8. Competing rules:
Heats will be conducted and first 9 results from each age category will be entitled to take part in the final race. In case, there are 9 or less competitors in the given age category, only final race will be conducted.
There is a possibility to mix the competitors from different age categories. In order to classify the age category of such team, the average age of both competitors is taken.
Please note, that the age difference between the youngest and the oldest competitor from the team cannot be more that 15 years.

Late entries or entries that are not on the official entry form cannot be accepted.
The master’s paddlers can enter ICF Masters Championships 2010 without the permission from their national federation.
We kindly ask you to keep mentioned deadlines for sending entries, as it will greatly help us in the preparations of the competition program to all the team leaders.
10.Financial Conditions and Accommodation
The cost of participation is 450 PLN and it includes:
-event t-shirt
-souvenir
-poster
-two lunches
-invitation to an occasional reception on 14.08.2010
The first three places will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals.
Each participant has to pay his/her own accommodation. The Organizing Committee may help in accommodation. We would like to offer you the following hotel categories:

§ 300 PLN – Single room (including breakfast)
§ 350 PLN – Double room (including breakfast)
· Three stars hotel ***
§ 200 PLN – Single room (including breakfast)
§ 250 PLN – Double room (including breakfast)
· Two stars hotel **
§ 150 PLN – Single room (including breakfast)
§ 200 PLN – Double room (including breakfast)
· Campsite on Camping Malta
§ 20 PLN per person per day
§ 12 PLN/day – tent for 1,2,3 persons
§ 20 PLN/day – tent for 4 persons and more
· Places for the caravans + car/autocamping on Camping Malta – 60 PLN/day
· Car – 20 PLN/day
11. Payment deadlines
The following deadlines apply for payment of participation fee and for accommodations
- 30.05.2010 deposit of 50 % of total amount must be transferred to O. Committee
- 15.07.2010 deposit of 50 % of total amount must be transferred to O. Committee
Cancellation terms:
- until 30.06.2010 - no deduction
- until 15.07.2010 - 50% of the participation fee will be deducted
- after 30.07.2010 - 100% of the participation fee will be deducted
12. Boat Rental
K1 / C1 – 160 PLN per day
K2 / C2 – 240 PLN per day
K4 / C4 – 320 PLN per day
14. Medical care
Organizing committee asks that all participants of the ICF Canoe Sprint Masters Championships 2010 take out a medical insurance policy in their respective country.
All costs above the regular first aid, ambulance and physiotherapeutic services are to be covered by this medical insurance policy. Organizing Committee will not cover any expenses in connection with hospital or dental treatment.
15. EU Visa Requirements
The organizing Committee needs lists of the participants with necessary information (passport-no and date of birth) from the national federations a.s.a.p.
